New England Woods was begun in 1993 as the vision of David F. Abney II and the late Warren C. Wise, once partners in Wise Construction Company, Inc.

Their goal was to create a neighborhood of affordable, custom-built homes. Each individually designed in compliance with the neighborhood's architectural standards and with quality throughout.

His company, Wise Construction has been active in the building trade throughout Ohio, the Midwest and South Carolina for nearly 30 years. The company's efforts have often been recognized with industry awards and they are members of Associated General Contractors.
